Science & Technology Interns

The Academy for Future Leaders in Science and Technology’s mission is to achieve greater workforce diversity in the professional fields of environmental sciences by providing opportunities aimed at enriching the academic, social, and professional competencies of women and minorities from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Student interns are hand-selected by their high school counselors and the Academy Leadership Team. Each will be chosen because he or she is motivated to succeed and has shown some interest in the broader fields of science and technology.

The internship organization would ideally have an environmental science and/or management department where the students can gain hands-on experience in that particular field, but this is not a requirement. The organization should be located in proximity to downtown Chicago and/or is easily accessible via public transportation.
